Iain holds the Diploma in Financial Advice from the London Institute of Banking and Finance, is a member of the Institute of Financial Services and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Professional Will Writers.
Iain commenced his financial services industry career in 1985 and became an independent financial adviser in 1998. For much of his career, Iain has presented financial planning courses and seminars for large employers within the public and private sectors. Course topics have included preparing for retirement, mid-career planning, redundancy and strategic investment planning.
The key to Iain's business philosophy is simply to understand the needs and goals of his clients. Once these have been established, the process of giving advice becomes very straightforward, clear and concise. Over the years, Iain has specialised in providing investment advice, but has never lost sight of other key areas, which may have required attention, for example, protection, pension shortfalls and Inheritance Tax mitigation. This involves a very thorough and detailed holistic approach to all aspects of financial planning for his clients. Iain is always approachable, something that his clients, new and long-standing, have come to fully appreciate when follow-up advice has been needed.
Iain is married with four adult children and four grandchildren (at the last count!) These days, family activities tend to fill Iain's spare time, but given the chance, he and his Wife enjoy the Theatre and eating out. Iain is interested in all sport and will occasionally be found at the Kia Oval and Stamford Bridge as a keen supporter of both Surrey CCC and Chelsea FC.
