Simon holds the Diploma in Financial Planning gained with the London Institute of Banking and Finance and the Certificate in Mortgage Advice from the Chartered Insurance Institute. He also has an Honours Degree in Psychology.
Simon became a financial adviser in 2006 and has worked for a number of well-known institutions including the Nationwide Building Society and NatWest Bank. He gained considerable experience of private client wealth management at the Prudential before becoming an independent financial adviser when he joined the Throgmorton team.
Simon has a background in both personal and corporate financial planning. He uses a holistic approach to identify and address the full range of client’s needs.
In the corporate sector, Simon specialises in business protection, strategic risk mitigation, tax efficient profit extraction and business succession planning. For personal clients, Simon specialises in pre and post-retirement planning, wealth management and protecting against the financial impact that death or poor health can have on clients and their loved ones.
Simon’s clients value his ability to explain complex financial advice in simple language. His commitment to building long-term relationships helps clients and their families to adapt their financial arrangements as circumstances change over the years.
Simon lives with his partner and their two Labradors in Canterbury, Kent. He loves to travel and has been fortunate enough to visit countries in 6 continents with highlights that include Alaska, Chile, Cape Town, Tokyo and Costa Rica.
Simon’s other main passion is running and he is usually in training for his next marathon. In recent years, Simon has started to combine these two passions by competing in marathons around the world including New York, Amsterdam, Chicago and Berlin and he is two thirds of the way through completing the prestigious 6 World Marathon Majors challenge.
